Nathaniel W. Howard

Mr. Nathaniel W. Howard, age 68 of Maysville formerly of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, March 22, 2008 following an extended illness. Born on June 27, 1939 to the late John David and Carrie Nix Howard, Mr. Howard was a farmer for many years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Howard. Survivors include his wife, Carol Howard, Maysville; daughters and son-in-laws, Becky and Roy Hay, Cleveland; Elizabeth and Keith Taylor, Cornelia; daughter, Karen Thompson, Habersham; sons and daughter-in-laws, Kenneth and Cheryl Howard, John and Mandy Howard, all of Gainesville; son, Steve Leith Howard, Talmo; brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kay Howard, Habersham; sister-in-laws, Dorthy Howard, Gillsville; and Sally Howard, Cleveland; 18 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Royce Winters and the Rev. T. John Dell officiating. Burial will follow in the Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery in Gillsville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday.
