Mr. N. R. Seabolt age 88 of Cleveland passed away peacefully February 27, 2007 after battling pancreatic cancer.
Born February 1, 1919 in Lumpkin County in the Dick’s Creek Area at Turner’s Corner, N.R. and his family moved from the mountains to Cleveland. N.R. went to school in Cleveland and after school went to work for Civil Services during the depression time. In November 1938 he married Loudean Jarrard and they had two children, Faye and Danny. He worked for Dupont and Civil Services traveling and working as far as Okinawa, Japan as a heavy equipment mechanic. In 1946 he built and ran a service station and garage in the Mossy Creek area and it was in operation until 1986. In the 50’s he started working as a fulltime farmer and farming remained his passion throughout the remainder of his life.
N.R. belonged to the First Baptist Church in Cleveland and was a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class. He was a Trustee and member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 565 and an avid supporter of Boy Scout Troup 140.
God and Family were the most important dynamics in his life. He was most happy getting together with his family spending cherished time talking and sharing meals cooked from the vegetables he brought to the table by the hard work in his gardens.
He was a humble and courageous man with a dry wit that always made you smile. He spent his life serving and helping others in need and with his passing an empty space will be left in the earthly well of Kindness and love.
