Norma Ray Gant

Norma Pennington Gant   09/26/1948 – 08/18/2017   The beloved “Miss Norma” was gathered into the precious arms of our Lord, Jesus and rejoined with her father and mother, sister, Linda, and brother David. She is survived by her husband, James (Jim) Gant; children, Jim (Angie) Gant, Heather Gant, Michael (Mechelle) Gant, Bryan (Helen) Gant, and David (Katherine) Gant; fourteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Al (Edna) Pennington, Bill (Connie) Pennington, John (Geri) Pennington; and sister, Ginger (Carl) Peterson; many nieces and nephews.   Norma was a homemaker and served Clayton County as both a lunchroom monitor at Riverdale Elementary School and crossing guard for Clayton County, retiring in 2013 to come to beautiful White County Georgia.   Viewing is to be held Monday, August 21, 2017 from 5-8 PM at Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland, Georgia and on Tuesday, August 22 from 10-11 AM at Helen First Baptist Church in Helen, Georgia.   Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 22nd at 11 AM at Helen First Baptist Church. Dr. Jeff Lowe and Pastor Jim Holmes will officiate.   In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to Helen First Baptist’s Building Fund, to the First Baptist of Riverdale, Georgia, to the Hospice program of Northeast Georgia Medical Center or to a charity of your choice.     Online condolences can be made to the family at www.barrettfh.com   Barrett Funeral Home, Cleveland.
