Norman Lee Dorsey

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday July 22, 2007 at Mossy Creek United Methodist Church for Mr. Norman Lee Dorsey age 85 of Sautee. Mrs. Barbara Head and Dr. Steve Midkiff will officiate. Interment will be in the Church Cemetery. Mr. Dorsey will lie in state at the Church from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Sunday. The family will receive friends 7-9 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Mr. Dorsey passed away Friday July 20, 2007 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Dorsey was born in White County the son of the late Lester and Nora Sosebee Dorsey. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Loyd Dorsey, Eugene Dorsey, Paul Dorsey, Ray Dorsey, Albert Dorsey and sisters, Myrtic Roper, Arlene Morrison and Hattie Mae Dorsey. Mr. Dorsey was a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church, a member of Yonah Masonic Lodge #382 F&AM, and was a Veteran Having served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Louise E. Dorsey, Sautee; brother and sister in law, Hugh and Ethelene Dorsey, Gainesville; sister in laws, Viola Dorsey, Athens, Dorothy Dorsey, Chicopee, Billie Kenimer, Cleveland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
