Pat Cannon

Mr. Pat Cannon of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2026, following a short period of declining health. He was 96 years old.

Mr. Cannon was born in Lumpkin County on April 30, 1930, to the late Oscar Cannon and Fairy Cain Cannon. He spent his early years farming in Lumpkin County and graduated from Lumpkin County High School. He later moved to Colorado where he lived with his brother Dean Cannon and joined the USAF 86th Fighter Wing Colorado. When he returned to Lumpkin County, he enjoyed a successful 35-year career with the railroad. Upon retirement he returned to his passion of being a farmer until his death.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Cannon is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Delorice Cannon, his sisters, Helen Cannon, Alam Reese, Sue Perez, Barbara Cannon Matthews, and his brothers, Dean Cannon and John Carter "J.C." Cannon. He is survived by his daughter Teresa Cannnon, son Steve Cannon, and grandchildren Nicholas and Katherine Cannon.

Pat’s most enjoyable moments were spending Sundays with his nephew Charles Reese who provides grace to our family and is the very definition of love, compassion, and encouragement.

Graveside services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pastor Brian Alexander will officiate.
