Pat Hope Welborn

February 18, 1950 — August 10, 2020

Patricia “Pat” Hope Welborn, age 70, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, August 10, 2020. Mrs. Welborn was born in Young Harris to the late Boyd and Laura Lavonia Garrett Thomas. In addition to parents, she is preceded in death by siblings, Bonnell Thomas, Barney Thomas and Oneal Thomas. Mrs. Welborn was a secretary at Lamar Canup State Farm Insurance and a member of Fairfield Baptist Church. She was also a school teacher at White Creek Christian Academy and a bank teller at Community Bank and Trust. Survivors include husband of 48 years, Richard Welborn, Cleveland; daughter, Hope Welborn, Gainesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Caleb and Kayla Welborn, Cleveland, and Joshua and Melissa Welborn, Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Andrew Welborn and Julie Welborn; brothers, Sammy Thomas, and Kenneth Thomas, both of Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Vivian Thomas, Herman and Billie Rae Thomas, Buddy and Carolyn Thomas, and Robin and Sherry Thomas, all of Cleveland; sisters, Jimmie Ruth McGee, Cleveland and Jackie Fain, Demorest; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 A.M. Thursday, August 13, 2020 at Fairfield Baptist Church. The Rev. Keith Allison and Rev. Ben Tanner will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the funeral home.
