Payton (P.J.) Wehunt

Mr. Payton (P.J.) Wehunt age 83 of Cleveland passed away Friday May 27, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Wehunt was born in Hall County the son of the late Payton and Florence Haygood Wehunt. He was a member of Sardis Baptist Church, Georgia Old Time Plow Club and a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by brothers, Cliff Wehunt, Alferd Wehunt, Ivan Smokey Wehunt, sisters, Gennette Wehunt, Thelma Wehunt, Carabelle Shirley and Eula Mae Grissom. Survivors include his wife, Gladys Wehunt, Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Connie and Judd Grizzle, Marie and Clinton Waters, all of Dahlonega; son and daughter in law, Jimmy and Janie Wehunt, McDonough; step daughters and step sons in law, Jackie and Ricky Underwood, Cleveland, Sandy and David Sorrow, Dahlonega; sisters, Etheleen Robinson, Mary Jane Reece, both of Gainesville. Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Sunday May 29, 2011 at Barrett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Lance Fuller will officiate. Interment will be in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.
