Perry Virginia Nolan—Ginger, of Cleveland, Ga passed away on Friday November 16, 2018. Ginger was born in New York to the late H.C. and Perry Robinson.Words may not do justice to the woman who was Ginger Nolan. She was a strong, brilliant woman who had a tremendous depth of heart and soul. Ginger loved fiercely and cared deeply for her family and friends, and she gave of herself to help all who knew her. She was the loving wife of Bob who preceded her into heaven. She was sister to Joan, Mom to son Dana and partner Katy, son Tyler, daughter Perry and husband Max, and son Tim and wife Carla. She was Gramma to Dan, Cassidy, Haley and Patrick. She always had pets, adored her animals, and is survived by her beloved dog Marley. She was active in helping others through her healing efforts and she positively touched the lives of hundreds of people and their families.Ginger’s parents were from Massachusetts, and while Ginger grew up in New York, she spent many wonderful summers at the family farm in Massachusetts with her grandparents and cousins. Her cousin Barry was a very close friend throughout her life. Ginger also was close to her many aunts and took her mother Perry and her Aunt Louise to Ireland to visit the ancestral homestead when the older ladies were in their 90’s. What an adventure they had!She was an accomplished competitive horseback rider and competed in show jumping events all over the northeast including at Madison Square Garden when she was a teenager.Ginger was on the vanguard of women in computer engineering, and the complex systems she developed are still being used today by the military and private enterprise. She made numerous lifelong friendships with those with whom she worked. Tom Saracco, Helen Staley and Tom Burghard are colleagues and great friends that she communicated with regularly for decades after they’d worked together. She was the foundation of our family, the rock for us during difficult times, and the heart that will continue to beat in all of us. We will miss you Mom and Gramma, but we know you will be with us as we travel our paths for the future. The family will receive friends from 3-7pm on Saturday December 15, 2018 at Barrett Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Northeast Georgia – 845 W Ridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30501.To share a memory or to leave a condolence please visit www.barrettfh.com706-865-3101
