Mr. Philip Solomon Gove, age 90 of Clermont passed away on Friday, March 28, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Meredith, New Hampshire on October 01, 1917, he was the son of the late Carl and Lilla Bell Willey Gove. Mr. Gove was a veteran of the U.S. Army and had worked with Sales in the construction industry for many years. Mr. Gove was a past member of the Lions Club and a former deacon at Dahlonega Baptist Church. He was a hero and a very honorable man who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 8 years, Emiley Saine Gove, Clermont; step-son, James Self, Clermont; daughter, Bonnie Lee May, son, John W. Gove, both of Lakeland, Florida; 5 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 30, 2008 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Terry Poole and the Rev. Charles Grant will officiate.
Mr. Gove’s wishes were to be cremated.
The family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time on Sunday at the funeral home.
