Phillip Lamar Mccollum

Phillip Lamar McCollum age 66 of Toccoa, passed away Friday December 11, 2009 at his residence following a sudden illness. Mr. McCollum was born June 26, 1943 in Stephens County to Christine Wike McCollum and the late Phillip McCollum. Mr. McCollum was a graduate of Piedmont College and was in the music industry for 40 years. Survivors include his mother, Christine Wike McCollum, Sautee; sister, Lavetta McCollum, New Windsor, New York; aunt and uncle, Imogene and Hoyt Autry, Cleveland; aunts, Myrtle Wheeler, Cleveland; Louise Piano, Sautee; Yvonne Hix, Sautee; Winnell Anderson, McDonugh, GA; uncle and aunt Berlin and Bobbie Wike, Cleveland; niece and nephew-in-law, Maria and Andrew Chastain, Jackson, GA; nephew, Ed Hix, Atlanta; great-nephew, Tyler Chastain, Jackson, GA. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 P.M. Sunday, December 13, 2009 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in the Harvest Christian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
