Mrs. Polly Head Stamey, age 82, of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Wednesday, February 10, 2010 from the Cleveland United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dick Huycke and Rev. Emory Brackman will officiate. Interment will follow in the Cleveland City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Stamey was born on February 10, 1927 to the late Charles Edward and Mary Johnson Head. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Jim Head. Mrs. Stamey was the business manager for Stamey Company and a member of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the United Methodist Women and the Cleveland United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, C.A. Stamey, Cleveland; daughter and companion Claudia Head Deviney and Bodo Brathe, Edenton, N.C.; daughter and son in law, Joan Head and Joe Brown, Cleveland; son, James Myles Head, Cleveland; brother, Ed Head, Cleveland, grandchildren, Jake and Crystal Brown, Justin Brown, and Emily Head.
