Rachel A. Cantrell

Rachel A. Cantrell, of Sautee, GA, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024. Mrs. Cantrell was born on December 16, 1935, to the late Rev. Arles and Druchie Benfield of Batesville, Georgia. In addition to her parents, Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Cantrell; sisters, Jennie Gipson and Marcella Free; brother, Buford Benfield; great-great granddaughter, Brooklyn I’Ayda Shyann Cantrell. She is survived by her sons, Tyra Cantrell and Dennis Cantrell (Denise); daughter, Teresa Chambers (Brian); grandchildren, Michael Cantrell, Audrey Cantrell (George Brown), Jason Cantrell (Summer), Frankie Zirkle (Chase), Brandon Cantrell (Emily), Shannon Grindle (William), David Chambers (Jennifer), and Heather Dunn (James); 12 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bertie Sosebee. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Sunday, March 24, 2024, at Bethel Baptist Church. The Rev. Anthony Shore, the Rev. Jason Cantrell, and the Rev. Robert Abernathy will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
