Ralph Duggan

August 8, 1944 — November 18, 2025

Ralph W Duggan passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on November 18 at the hospital in Elberton, Georgia. Ralph is survived by his daughter Ashley Duggan and her two adult children (Ralph’s grandchildren), Shaw and Olivia Miller, in Boston, Massachusetts. Ralph is also survived by his daughter Brooke Jenkins in Naples, Florida, and his sister Anne Buckley and her husband Dan of Atlanta, and their two adult children Danny and Shay Buckley.

Ralph was born August 8, 1944 in Athens, Tennessee. He attended UGA and then moved to Gainesville, Georgia, where he lived the rest of his life. He continued to love UGA football and the Dawgs. A charming salesman by trade, Ralph enjoyed flying his small plane (surviving two crashes), hiking and hunting with his dogs in the North Georgia mountains, boating on Lake Lanier, and running the Peachtree road race. He was fond of food and travel, including visiting Ashley and her family in Newton, Massachusetts, where he enjoyed eating seafood and wandering the streets of Boston while teasing Shaw and Olivia about the ways they were “Yankee grandchildren.” He could cause a little bit of mischief and chuckled that his niece and nephew called him “Uncle Stink.” Ralph always loved planning his next adventure, musing about ski trips, teaching his grandchildren to hunt, and getting back into flying “when I grow up.”

At Ralph’s request, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life / memorial will take place in Massachusetts in January.
