Ray Reed

Ray Reed, age 70 of Cleveland, passed away Friday, October 9, 2026.

Mr. Reed was born in Demorest, GA to the late Jack and Estelle Helton Reed. Ray had a deep love for aviation and was proud to be a commercial pilot and Certified Flight Instrument Instructor. When he wasn’t flying, he could often be found enjoying the outdoors, whether fishing or hunting with close friends. Ray also had a special gift for gardening and seemed to be able to grow just about anything he planted. He was a wonderful cook who loved preparing meals for his family, and some of his happiest moments were spent sharing good food, laughter, and time with the people he loved most.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Brenda Reed; daughter and son-in-law, Angie and Michael Tuggle; granddaughters, Madison Tuggle and Morgan Tuggle; sisters and brothers-in-law, June and Mike Miner; Sandra and Steve Bailey; sister, Patricia Jordan; numerous, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; his special puppy dog, Theo and beloved cats, Lovie, Gizmo, Gidget, and Martini also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, October 12, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jason Hester and the Rev. Eddie Umberhaut will officiate. A livestream of the service can be viewed here: https://youtube.com/live/d4qlPWGjz5g?feature=share
