Ray Sutton

Ray Sutton, age 100, of Dahlonega passed away Tuesday September 20, 2016. Mr. Sutton was born February 4, 1916 in White County to the late Emily Sutton. Ray was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church joining the church in 1931 and was a member of the Blue Mountain Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dovie Sutton, 2 grandsons and brother, Walker Sutton. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Harvey and Lynn Sutton; Dewey and Helen Sutton, all of Dahlonega; 11 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Thursday, September 22, 2016 at Town Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Jerry Whitlock and the Rev. Phillip Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Wednesday and 10 AM – 1 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
