Rebecca (Becky) Garrison Wood, 80, of Cleveland died peacefully at home on Monday, December 23, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Billy Wood; three sons: Mark Wood and wife Gyni; James Wood and wife Deena; Charles Wood and wife Katrina; seven grandchildren: Gary Wood; Bethany Fox and husband Sean; Laura Scott and husband Peter; Whitney Pass and husband Brandon; Christine Wood; Anthony Wood and wife K.C.; Jonathan Wood; and three great-granddaughters: Sienna and Londyn Fox and Ava Pass. Mrs. Wood was a member of Cleveland First Baptist Church. Born in Athens, GA, she grew up in Jefferson and graduated from Jefferson High School. She attended North Georgia College in Dahlonega where she met Billy. They were married on March 14, 1953. She and her husband resided in Gainesville, GA, and Hilton Head, SC, before retiring to Cleveland in 1989. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, December 28, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home in Cleveland, with Dr. T. Michael Davis and the Rev. John Bryan officiating. A private interment will follow at Dahlonega Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services from 11:00AM-1:00 PM.
