Renata Di Pietro

  Renata di Pietro age 62 of Cleveland passed away Monday March 17, 2014 at her residence.   Renata was born in Hartford, Connecticut the daughter of James Danise and the late Clara Danise. She was preceded in death by her sister, Marilyn Whitmarsh. Renata was a member of Grace Apostolic Church.   Renata di Pietro, coloratura soprano and master musician, won the Metropolitan Opera auditions and received over one hundred thousand dollars in scholarships to fund her musical education. She studied at Simpson College in Iowa and at the Hartt School of Music in Connecticut. She performed extensively as a soloist in San Diego, California and in Hartford, Connecticut.   She is survived by her husband, Carl Hummer, Cleveland; father, James Danise, San Diego, California; sister and brother in law, Janet and Richard Henne, Bradenton, Florida; brother, Ronald C. Soares, St. Lucie, Florida; seventeen nieces and nephews throughout the U.S.   Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday March 22, 2014 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Pastor Emmitt Parrish will officiate.
