Rev. George Guy Bowen, age 64 of Clermont, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2007. Rev. Bowen was born in Hall County, Georgia on November 02, 1942 to the late Henry and Jimmie Savage Bowen. He was also preceded in death by his in-laws: Sandy and Katherine Hulsey. He was a Charter Member of Calvary Cross Baptist Church and a former pastor. He was a preacher, and a businessman, having owned Bowen & Blackstock Automotive Repair, Hilcrest Dairy & Hen Farm, Silver Sand Trucking Company and Bowen Feed and Seed Supply. Survivors include: Wife of 43 years: Joyce Hulsey Bowen, Clermont; Daughters & son-in-laws: Teresa & Tony Greenway, Cleveland; Tammy & Chad Turpin, Clermont; Grandchildren: Mandy, Mike, Mitch & Max Greenway, Alissa Helton, Ali, and Ansley Turpin. Brothers and sisters-in-laws: James & Joyce Ann Bowen, Rayle, GA; John & Gail Bowen, Tim & Kelly Bowen, Tom & Anna Bowen, Paul & Reba Bowen, David & Janice Bowen and brother: Bill Bowen, all of Clermont,. Several nieces & nephews; and special friends: David Ravan, Lamar Hamilton, Jeff Gerrells and Earl Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 15, 2007 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Fuller and Rev. Chris Anderson officiating and the Rev. Ray Turpin officiating at the graveside. Burial will follow in Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. on Thursday.
