Richard Lamar Jackson

Mr. Richard Lamar Jackson, age 53 of Cleveland passed away on Tuesday June 29, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Jackson was born in Habersham County on March 15, 1957 to the late Ella Turner and Joe Bunk Jackson. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Glen Jackson and Ray Jackson. He was retired from the Georgia Department of Transportation and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. He was a devoted husband and father. Survivors include his wife: LaVerne McGee Jackson, Cleveland; sons: Bucky Joe Jackson and Richard (Ric) Glen Jackson, Cleveland; sisters and brother-in-law: Virginia and Kenneth Anderson, Cleveland and JoAnn and Coy Robinson, Cleveland; brothers and sisters-in-law: Allen & Verlene Jackson, Cleveland and Paul & Brenda Jackson, Cleveland; sister-in-law: Carol Jackson; Cleveland; mother-in-law: Jimmie Ruth McGee, Cleveland and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 1, 2010 at Shoal Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Anderson, Rev. Robert Abernathy and Rev. Joe Vernon. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 on Wednesday at the funeral home.
