Mr. Richard Wayne Turner, age 56, of Demorest, formally of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2008 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Turner was born in White County, Georgia on June 6, 1951 to Edna Free Turner and the late Ellis Turner. Mr. Turner was a retired Master Sergeant having served our country proudly in the U.S. Army during Vietnam, was a member of the VFW, and was also member of Antioch Baptist Church in Cleveland. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Allan Turner.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Robbie Winkler Turner, Demorest; daughter, Amber Turner, Clarkesville; daughter and son-in-law,Jessica Turner and Jamie Kastner, Demorest; mother, Edna Free Turner, Cleveland; grandchildren, Cole Turner, Demorest;
Kylie Kastner, Demorest; brother and sister-in-law, James and Latrelle Turner,
Cleveland; brother, Tommy Turner, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Ray
Hawkins, Buford; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Heffner, the Rev. Paul Flynn and the Rev. Jamie McGinnis officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-9 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
