Ricky Blackburn

Ricky Blackburn, age 55 of Cleveland, passed away Monday, July 28, 2014 at his residence. Ricky lost his battle with cancer. He was a fighter and a hero to his family and friends. He was such as courageous man and a loving husband, dad, son, and brother. He will be deeply missed by all. Mr. Blackburn was born on March 19, 1959, in Demorest, GA, to Dorothy Jean Blackburn and the late Eugene Blackburn. He was a self-employed construction worker and attended Restoration Point Church. Survivors include his wife, Kim Blackburn, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Cayla Blackburn, Cleveland; son, Kyle Blackburn, Cleveland; step-daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Geoffry Williams, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri; daughter , Tink Thomas, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and George Herb, Cleveland; sister, Lisa Blackburn, Cleveland; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Ricky Stepp and Rev. Scott Strickland will officiate. Interment will follow at Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
