Robert Gordon Hester

Robert Gordon Hester, age 66 of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday September 8, 2012 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Mr. Hester was born May 7, 1946 in Lumpkin County to the late Gomer and Ruby White Hester. He was a school bus driver and mechanic for Lumpkin County Schools and was of the Holiness Faith. He was preceded in death by his brother, Garner Hester and sister-in-law, Barbara Hester. Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Chris Border, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, James and Ashley Hester, Conyers; granddaughter, Kaylee Border, Cleveland; sister, JoAnn and Fred Savage, Dahlonega; brothers, Hoyt Hester, Cleveland; Russell and Mary Jo Hester; Cleveland; Rondal and Tona Hester, Dahlonega; Richard and Judy Hester, Dahlonega; Jack and Maury Hester, Cleveland; Don and Caroline Hester, Dahlonega; Morris Hester, Dahlonega; Horace Hester, Dahlonega; sister-in-law, Helen Hester, Dahlonega; good friend, Eugenia Watkins and many extended family members also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Shane Savage, the Rev. Jason Hester and the Rev. Brandon Hester will officiate. Interment will follow in the Community Chapel Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
