Ron Graham

October 1, 1942 — August 29, 2013

On August 29, 2013 Lieutenant Colonel Melvin Ronald Graham, affectionately known as "Ron" to all of his friends, passed away from this life to heaven. He went to be with his angel and beloved bride, Barbra, who preceded him in death on Oct 2, 2012. Ron and Barbra were married 50 years and were high school sweethearts since the age of 15. Lt. Colonel M. Ronald Graham, a devout follower of Christ, was a godly family man of honor, tremendous character and shared God's love with all who knew him. He was a man of unwavering, unshakeable faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; his walk was consistent with his faith and an example of unparalleled consistency. Mr. Graham was an elder, Sunday school teacher and chaired the finance committee as a volunteer at the Bridge Church in Cleveland. After retiring as a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force, he had two additional careers, retiring from both IBM and the University of North Georgia (formerly North Georgia College). He enjoyed old time Christian gospel and fifties music, playing the organ and accordion. Lt. Colonel Graham was the kind of gentleman who lightened others burdens and lit up a room with his sense of humor and his unwavering ethical strength. Ron is survived by two daughters, Tracy Taylor and Ronni Hall. Tracy lives in Cleveland, GA with her husband, Dr. John B. Taylor and 11 year old daughter Christie. Ronni lives in Morrisville, NC with her 17 year old daughter Christiana and 15 year old son Palmer. Ron had many friends and family who will miss him greatly. Ron passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center at the age of 70. Due to the sudden and unexpected passing of Lt. Colonel M. Ronald Graham, the family requests prayers and notes of encouragement in lieu of flowers. Please mail condolences or add a message to the online guest book at www.barrettfh.com under Melvin Ronald Graham. To honor his life, a military funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013 and Pastor Patrick Ballington of the Bridge Church will officiate. The ceremony will include a 21 gun salute and be held on the covered bridge by the Chattahoochee River on River Park Drive, Cleveland, GA 30528.
