Mr. Rondal Jackson, age 67, of Sautee, passed away Monday, September 15, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2 P.M. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from Barrett Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Brian Satterfield and the Rev. Milton Harris will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 4-9 P.M. Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at the funeral home.
Mr. Jackson was born on June 3, 1941 to the late J.N. and Emma Wooten Jackson. He was preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Adrian Moore and Thester Satterfield. He entered active military service in April of 1960 stationed at Fort Jackson, S.C., then moving to Fort Dixon, N.J. He then concluded his service to our country at Fort Bragg, N. C. serving in the 82nd Airborne Division. He also received the highest medal awarded during peace time by saving a young boy from drowning. Mr. Jackson was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Dottie Sims Jackson, Sautee; daughter Tanya Oliver, Sautee; sons and daughters-in-law Stacy and Debbie Jackson, Sautee; Trent and Susan Jackson, Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law Junior and Elsie Jackson, Cleveland; sisters and brothers-in-law Reba and Donald Alexander, Annetta and Herbert Alexander; sisters Avestine Moore, Juwanda Satterfield, all of Cleveland; grandchildren Tyler King, Nikki Jackson, Eli Oliver, Jaracoe Jackson, Tamara Jackson, Trenika Jackson, Zackery Jackson, Morgan and Erin Pettus; great grandchildren Emily King and Jayden King.
