Rosie L. Gooch

Rosie Lee Gooch, age 90 of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, September 18, 2014 at Gateway Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Gooch was born November 13, 1923 in Banks County to the late James H. Petitt and Sarah Lou Thomas Petitt. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband R.L. Gooch, brothers Eli Petitt, J.D. Petitt, Robert Petitt, sister Henrietta Petitt. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Henry Spence, Cleveland; daughter, Geraldine Sorrow, Elberton; brothers and sisters-in-law, L.G. and Betty Petitt; Cleveland; John and Edith Petitt, Cornelia; sisters and brothers-in-law, Pauline and Bernie Blakney; Mary Lou and Thomas Skelton, all of Cleveland; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate. Interment will follow at Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
