Roy Garrett

Roy C. Garrett, age 80, of Clarkesville, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020. Mr. Garrett was born on June 24, 1940, in Union County, to the late William and Maudie Watkins Garrett. He was a retired truck driver and farmer. In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his sons, Lewis Garrett, Randall Garrett, and Timothy Garrett; sisters, Farrell Baliles and Ellen Prince. Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Donna Garrett, Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia Garrett, Gainesville, Betty and Ronnie Turpin, Gainesville, Laura Ledford, Dahlonega, Virginia and Jeff Garrison, Murrayville, Jan and Wendell Frady, Dahlonega, Patty and David Posten, Dahlonega, Deborah Murray, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Doug Garrett, Gainesville, Matt and Christy Garrett, Clarkesville, Daniel and Loretta Garrett, Cleveland, Will and Kara Garrett, Cleveland; sisters, Pauline Baliles, Cleveland, TN and Carolyn Ross, Gainesville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 16, 2020 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dennis Taylor and Sister Betty Wilson will officiate. Interment will follow at Emmanuel Gospel Fellowship Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
