Roy Lee Worley

Mr. Roy Lee Worley, age 88 of Sautee-Nacoochee, passed away Monday, July 25, 2011 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Worley was born May 14, 1923 in Banks County to the late R.O. and Carrie Lee Davidson Worley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Chastain Worley; son: Sammy Worley; grandson: Mark Turner and brothers: Junior Worley, Jack Worley and Bobby Worley. Mr. Worley was a veteran having served in the U.S. Army. He had worked as a carpenter and was a member of Old Nacoochee Baptist Church. Survivors include: daughter: Myrtle Worley, Dawsonville; daughters and son-in laws: Diane & Terry Goodson, Sautee; Janie & Marvin Lynch, Demorest; Janice & Benny Miller, Sautee; sons and daughters-in-laws: Mabron & Judy Worley; Cornelia; Roddy & Jill Worley, Sautee; daughter: Nancy Turner, Union, SC; sisters: Mildred Greene, Athens; Ruby Standridge, Commerce; Myrtle Lawson, Nickolson;12 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 28, 2011 from the Old Nacoochee Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Trotter, Rev. Dave Fortner and Rev. Jerry Vandiver officiating. Mr. Worley will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by the White County Honor Guard.
