Ruby Thomas

Ruby Florance Thomas, age 83, of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Mrs. Thomas was born on October 8, 1942, in Arkansas, to the late Perry Hopkins. She was a retired registered nurse and was a member of Shoal Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Howell Thomas; sons, Mike Thomas and Mark Thomas; sisters, Patsy Ricketts and Esther Weldon; brothers, David Reed and Lloyd Hopkins; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jerry and Pat Thomas.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Christi Thomas, and Bobby and Judy Lynn Thomas; grandchildren, Tyler Thomas, Moriah Thomas, Emilie Thomas, and Kaitlin Barr; siblings, Joyce Dickerson, Jack Reed, Linda Sparkman, and Doris Metcalf; brothers and sisters-in-law, Hilda and James Tallant, Edsel and Carolyn Thomas, Wallace and Elaine Thomas, Benny “Pop” and Peggy Thomas, Larry “Pood” and Janice Thomas; also surviving are a large number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday, August 13, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Beachy and the Rev. Michael Thomas will officiate. Interment will follow in Shoal Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at the funeral home.
