Dr. Sami F. Ammari age 71 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday October 15, 2008 at Northeast Ga Medical Center following a brief illness. Dr. Ammari was born in Jordan to the late Fareed M. and Nofa Oweis Ammari. He was a Baptist Minister and currently the Pastor of Friendship Baptist Church in Hiawassee. Dr. Ammari was a Trustee of Truett McConnell College and Vice President of the Northeast Ga Medical Center Clergy Fellowship where he was a volunteer Chaplain. He was the 2005 Volunteer Chaplain of the year at the Lanier Park Campus. Survivors include his wife, Hripsime Ammari, Gainesville; daughter and son in law, Ruthie and Tim Pfeiffer, Denver, CO.; grandsons, Benjamin Pfeiffer, Wesley Pfeiffer, both of Denver, CO.; 3 sisters and 2 brothers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday October 18, 2008 at Cleveland First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jeff Thompson, the Rev. Fouad Shouroush, Dr. Emir Caner and Mr. Greg Garabedian will officiate. Interment will be in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
