Sammy Augustus Thomas

Sammy Augustus Thomas, age 87, of Cleveland, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023. Mr. Thomas was born on April 8, 1936, in White County, to the late Boyd and Laura Garrett Thomas. In addition to his parents, Sammy is preceded in death by his sister, Pat Welborn; brothers, Bonnell Thomas, Barney Thomas, O’Nell Thomas, James Thomas, and Jerry Thomas. Survivors include his son, Kenneth Thomas; grandchildren, Nathan Thomas and Stephanie Strout; great-grandchildren, Caden Thomas, Taigen Thomas, and Madison Hollis; siblings, Jimmie Ruth McGee, Herman Thomas, Jacki Fain, Kenneth Thomas, Robin Thomas (Sherry); sisters-in-law, Carolyn Thomas, Mary Thomas, Vivian Thomas; brother-in-law, Richard Welborn; many nephews, nieces, and cousins also survive. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 25, 2023, at Gateway Memory Park. The Rev. Chris Anderson will officiate.
