Sandy Allan Smith, age 56 of Cleveland, went to his heavenly home on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Mr. Smith was born on March 7, 1970, in Gainesville, Georgia, to Cleveland and Vera Gibson Smith. He was a beloved husband, dedicated father, papa, hoho, brother, and mentor. Sandy was an avid camper, traveler, and true adventurer who rode his motorcycle from coast to coast for a cause that was near to his heart. He was a member and leader of the Boy Scouts of America, the Georgia State Defense Force (CW2), the White County Fire Dept., AWWA (American Water Works Association) — obtaining many awards and recognitions — President of the Water Buffalos/Ride with Purpose (Chief #44), and the Buford Masonic Lodge #292. He also served as an ordained minister, officiating weddings for many close friends, as well as serving as Santa, keeping the spirit of Christmas and the birth of Jesus Christ alive.
Sandy was preceded in death by his grandparents, Sandford and Marie Gibson, and Daniel Hoke Smith and Polly Marie Parker.
Survivors include his wife, Bridget Smith; daughters, Makayla Shipp (Ryann) and Marissa Waters (Josh); son, Zach Smith (Amber); grandchildren, Vada, Vivian, Salem, Mattie, and Luke; parents, Cleveland and Vera Smith; sisters, Theshia Smith, Rebecca Bunch (Gabriel), and Christy Smith; brothers, David Haney and Kyle Jones; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
