Sarah Ruth Payne

Mrs. Sarah Ruth Payne, age 73, of Cleveland passed away Friday, July 25, 2008 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Payne was born in Union County the daughter of the late William Ed and Bertha Hood Dyer. She had lived most of her life in White County and was preceded in death by her husband Charles Emanuel Payne, sister Anna Mae Burnette, brother James Perry Dyer. Mrs. Payne was a homemaker and a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters in law William Gary and Rena Payne, Cleveland; James Paul and Vickie Payne, Cleveland; sons Michael Andrew Payne, Cleveland; Charles Emanuel Payne Jr., Cleveland; daughters and sons in law Jeanette and Michael Tow, Cleveland; Sandra and Kip Lee, of Cleveland; sisters Wilma Motes, of Decatur; Genell Burns, Young Harris; Lois Allen, Blairsville; brother, Harold Dyer, Blairsville; 17 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday July 27, 2008 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Ronnie Dockery will officiate. Burial will be in Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Suches.
