Shelia Juanita Thompson

Shelia Juanita Thompson, age 78, of Demorest, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. Ms. Thompson was born on January 15, 1946, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Johnny and Ada Corbin Thompson. Shelia was retired from Gibson Dental Design and most recently worked as a housekeeper for Glen Ella Springs Inn. She was incredibly proud of the hard work she put in throughout her life and of her ability to continue serving others. She was known for her generosity, always putting others before herself, and for her deep love and care as a mother, grandmother, and sister. Shelia was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Frank Povolny; brother, Mac Thompson; sister and brother-in-law, Diane and Frank Christy; sister, Opal Shelnut; granddaughter, Erin Povolny; grandson and wife, Evan and Julia Povolny; and a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Leon Thompson officiating.
