Sherri Jean Snyder passed away September 22 after a 27-year battle with a brain tumor. A native of Lake Jackson, TX, Sherri was born in Wharton, TX on May 15, 1955.
At 15 years old, she fell in love with Tim, the boy down the street, who became the love of her life and her constant companion. Together they attended the University of Texas at Austin and built a life together, first in Texas and then Lawrenceville, GA, before finally relocating to the mountains of Sautee, GA in recent years. They were married on November 25, 1978, and were married for over 47 years.
Sherri had many great accomplishments throughout her life, but the two she was proud of most were her sons, Layne and Blake. She found such happiness in spending time with them whether it was cooking with Layne or watching football and baseball with Blake.
She is preceded in death by her father, Thomas Rufus Ivy, Jr., and mother, Mary Ann Ivy, and sister-in-law Martha Hallmark. She is survived by her husband, Timothy Snyder, her brother Dan Hallmark and wife Jan, her sons, Layne Snyder and Blake Snyder and wife Jessica, and granddaughters, Collins, Lennon, and Isla Snyder.
