Sherry Collins

Mr. Sherry Douglas Collins age 87 of Cleveland passed away Friday December 29, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Collins was born in Whitfield County the son of the late Spurgan and Maudena Davis Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Cathrine Collins, brother, Ralph Collins, sisters, Maebell Collins and Irene Collins. He lived in White County most of his life and was a member and Deacon of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Mildred Meaders, Cleveland; daughters and sons in law, Lucille and Vernon Winkler, Dolly and Rex Hogan, Louise and Terry Savoy, Annette and Mike Boswell, all of Cleveland; sons and daughters in law, Charles and Jeanette Collins, Cleveland, Robert and Susan Collins, Lula, Roy and Krista Collins, Mt. Airy; sister and brother in law, Lorene and S.T. Goss, Clarkesville; sister, Dorothy Hames, Demorest; brother and sister in law, C.J. and Velma Collins; 17 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and very special friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday December 31, 2006 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Flynn, the Rev. Pearson Pardue and the Rev. Joey Lyons will officiate.Interment will be in Gateway Memory Park. The family will recieve friends 2-9 P.M. Saturday.
