Shirley Ann Gilbert

Shirley Ann Gilbert, age 78, of Lula, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, December 9, 2024. Mrs. Gilbert was born on April 30, 1946, in Gainesville, Georgia, to the late Robert and Louise Garner McCrary. She worked at Buttons and Bows Childcare Center and was a member of Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Gilbert; brother, Robert McCrary; sisters, Betty McCrary and Nancy McCrary. Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Chris and Amy Gilbert, Steve and Denise Gilbert, Shannon and Andrea Gilbert, Keith and Nicole Gilbert; grandchildren, Cody Lowe, Tyler and Valerie Gilbert, Sara Beth and McKinley Stephens, Walker Gilbert, Hunter Gilbert, Conner Gilbert, Ava Gilbert, Easton Smith, Wyatt Gilbert; great-grandchildren, Avery Lowe, Koen Lowe, Liam Lowe, Maddox Stephens, and Magnolia Stephens; sister, Barbara Hope; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, December 12, 2024, at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Flynn, the Rev. Bobby Ivester, and the Rev. Tony Ledford will officiate. Interment will follow in Bethel Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery – 2946 Morrison Moore Parkway East, Dahlonega, GA 30533.
