Shirley Anne Dunn Schneider, born November 4, 1935, of Sautee, Georgia, died on September 14, 2009. She was a life-long resident of Atlanta, Georgia until moving to the north Georgia mountains, in the Sautee valley, in 2003.
Shirley was a member of Central Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, Georgia, for over 60 years, serving as an elder, volunteering at Central’s Health Clinic and providing leadership for the Women of the Church, among other volunteer church service. She also served in her community as past president of the Atlanta Chapter of the Friendship Force, past president of the Dunwoody Woman’s Club, active member of American Field Service and the Red Hat Society, and board member for the Dunwoody Nature Center.
Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 54 years, Guy Harry Schneider, and their children: Debbie Osterhoudt and husband Jesse and their children, John and wife Kristen, Stephanie and Chris; Beth Paffenback and husband Mike and their children Jason, Kristen and husband Danny, Jeffrey, and Lauren; Andrew Schneider and wife Jennifer. She is also survived by a brother, Robert C. Dunn and wife Faye.
We give thanks for the multitude of ways that she has touched our lives with abundant joy and love.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, September 18, 2009 at
Nacoochee Presbyterian Church with Rev. Bob Primm and Rev. Steve Bacon officiating.
