Stella M. Syms

Stella Dillon Ruesch Syms 96 of Helen passed away September 5, 2015. She graduated from Nacoochee High School. Following her years of education she worked in Atlanta where she met and married Harold Ruesch a young army officer. Just after WW II, Stella was among the first dependents to travel to Europe to join her husband. While in Europe she and Harold traveled extensively. Upon their return to the United States they lived in many areas of our beautiful country. Many of their retirement years were spent in Mexico. After Harold ‘s death Stella lived in Hudson, Florida and remarried Bill Syms. She and Bill shared time between their homes in Florida and Helen. She was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Cleveland where she and Bill were married and she was baptized. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to White County Humane Society. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Thursday September 10, 2015 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church Cleveland, Georgia. Father Fabio Alvarez will officiate. Survivors include her sister and brother in law, Betty and George Gnall, Marietta; nephews and nieces, Michael and Jennifer Gnall, Tommy and Dillon Gnall, niece and nephew, Paulette and Johnny Anderson; niece, Beverly and Richard Marinshak, great nieces and nephews, Nancy and Walt Nelson, Lorrie Marinshak, Kara and Will Garrett, Jonathan Anderson, Matt and Rachael Anderson; great great nieces and nephews, Mary Grace Nelson, Abby Nelson, Lauren Nelson, Will Garrett III, Levi Garrett, Hannah Garrett.
