Stephen Spier

Mr. Stephen Spier, age 90, of Demorest, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2024. Mr. Spier was born in St. Paul, MN to the late Theodore and Cora Belle Young Spier. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor Spier. Mr. Spier was a resident of Habersham County for 35 years. He attended Georgia Tech, was President of IES (Illuminating Engineering Society), worked at Lithonia Lighting for 25 years, and was an avid deer hunter. Survivors include daughters, Dena Williams (John Heintschel), Cumming, Lori Haynes, Cumming, and Tanya Spier, New Smyrna Beach, FL; son, Dirk Spier, New Smyrna Beach, FL; brother, Dan Spier (Molly), Marietta; 4 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from the chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Nacoochee Methodist Church Cemetery.
