Sue Gilstrap Meeks

Mrs. Sue Gilstrap Meeks, age 71, of Clarkesville, passed away Friday, March 27, 2009 at Habersham County Medical Center following a sudden illness. Mrs. Meeks was born on March 19, 1938 to the late John C. and Gertrude Abernathy Gilstrap. She is also preceded in death by her son Tim Black and her brother Guy Gilstrap. Mrs. Meeks was a nurse and she was of the Baptist Faith. Survivors include her daughter and son in law Carol and Mark Wofford, Gainesville; sons and daughters in law Gary and Polly Black, Demorest; Phil and Martha Black, Clarkesville; son Randall Black, Demorest; grandchildren Julie Windham, Crystal Toler, Brad Wofford, William Black, Aundie Smith, Haley Black, Madi Black; great grandchildren Trent Toler, Wyatt Windham, brothers and sisters in law Clifford and Roberta Gilstrap, Dahlonega; Jay and Essie Gilstrap, Murrayville; and brother Cecil Gilstrap. Funeral services are scheduled for 4 P.M. Sunday, March 29, 2009 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Dave Fortner and Rev. Dennis Taylor will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 P.M. Sunday before the service at the funeral home.
