Susan Schuler Church

Susan Schuler Church, age 84, of Sautee-Nacoochee, passed away on Monday, December 22, 2025.

Mrs. Church was born on May 11, 1941, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Richard and Elisabeth Baker Schuler. She was a retired physical therapist and a member of Nacoochee Methodist Church. Susan was a devoted and loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was marked by generosity and care for others. She loved and faithfully served the people of her community, Honduras, and her Church. In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her brother, Tom Schuler.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Jim Church; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Pam Church; daughter and son-in-law, Deborah and Chris Thurmond; grandchildren, Blake Church, Anna Church, Davis Church, Caroline Church, Sarah Elisabeth Thurmond, and Christopher Thurmond; sisters, Nancy Anderson and Jean Brubaker.

Memorial services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Saturday, January 10, 2026, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Keith Windmiller and the Rev. Parks Davis will officiate.
