Sylvia Ray Brooks

Sylvia Ray Brooks, age 79 of Cleveland, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020. Mrs. Brooks was born on September 6, 1940, in Walterboro, South Carolina, to the late Tiller and Iola Rosalee Breland Jones. She devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Sylvia was a member of Union Grove Congregational Holiness Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Brooks; daughter, Pamela Halbrook. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Wanda and Ronnie Grigsby, Dawsonville; daughter, Rebecca Brooks, West Chester, PA; son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Stacy Brooks, Cleveland; grandchildren, Kevin Grigsby, Melody DelPozo, Amy Broom, Andrew Grigsby, Samantha Sheriff, Jacob Markiewicz, Brett Brooks, Michelle Robison, Kayla Davenport, Joshua Broom, Jeffrey Markiewicz; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne Jones, Tiller Jones, and sister, Eugenia Herndon, all of Walterboro, South Carolina. Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Flynn and the Rev. Lanier Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home prior to the memorial service.
