Thelma Helton

Thelma Helton, age 96, of Cleveland, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022. Mrs. Helton was born on November 11, 1925, in White County, to the late Effort and Martha Foster Tomlin. She was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Helton; children, Kenneth Wayne Helton, Willette Brenda McClellon, and Jimmy Helton; siblings, Coella Tomlin Price, Imogene Tomlin Humphries, Kay Vone Tomlin Howington, Willy B. Tomlin, Weldon LaFayette Tomlin, Robert Lee Tomlin, and Thomas Tomlin. Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Donald McKay, Clayton, and Debbie and Danny Worley, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Ann Helton, Cleveland, and Roy Junior (Bug) and Juanita Helton, Cleveland; sons, Danny Helton, Cleveland, Jerry Helton, Cleveland, and Melvin Helton, Dawsonville; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Ben Martin; 25 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren also survive. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 29, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Bill Trotter and the Rev. W.A. Jenkins will officiate. Interment will follow in New Bridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
