Thurman Underwood

Mr. Thurman Underwood, age 79 of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Underwood was born September 2, 1930 in Cleveland to the late Fletcher and Flora Presley Underwood. He was a Veteran of the United States Army and a member of White Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Underwood was preceded in death by his sisters, Hazel Hicks, Nelda Caudell, Ella Marie Wilson, brothers, Ed Underwood and Hoyt Underwood. Survivors include his daughters, Elaine Mize, Gainesville; Judy Howell, Cleveland; daughters and sons-in-law, Bobbie and James Keith, Gainesville; Betty and Billy McConnell, Gainesville; Elizabeth and Scott Goodman, Cleveland; mother of his daughters, Jean Underwood, Cleveland; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and George McEntire, Cornelia; brother and sister-in-law, Earnest and Charlotte Underwood, Cornelia ; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Donna and Seth Parks, Gainesville; grandsons, Daniel Meeks, Gainesville, Caleb Goodman, Cleveland; granddaughter, Mary Goodman, Cleveland; great-grandson, Kaden Parks, Gainesville; great-granddaughters, Emmy Lou Parks, Brelynn Parks, Jordan Meeks, Lilly Chapman, all of Gainesville; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for 3 P.M. Thursday, April 29, 2010 at White Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Eddie Tanner, Rev. Pete Martin and Rev. Farrell Presley will officiate.
