Velma Mae Dewaters

Mrs. Velma Mae Dewaters age 88 of Cleveland passed away Sunday May 27, 2007 at Northeast Ga Medical Center Lanier Park Campus following an extended illness. Mrs. Dewaters was born in Franklin County the daughter of the late John Thomas and Evelyn Wilson Browner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Dewaters, grandson, Floyd McDougald and sister, Flora Lee Clark. Mrs. Dewaters was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness and retired from nursing. Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Carmella and Jr. McDougald, Cleveland; sons, Charlie Dewaters, Michigan, Ernie Dewaters, Washington; brother, R.L. Browner, Dalton; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday May 29, 2007 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Heffner will officiate with burial in Nacoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
