Velma Chambers Mclendon

Mrs. Velma Neil Chambers McLendon age 82 of Cleveland passed away Thursday February 22, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. McLendon was born in White County the daughter of the late Marvin and Lora Black Chambers. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Estes, sisters, Dorothy Struble, Louise Thigpen and brother, Billy Wayne Chambers. Mrs. McLendon was a homemaker and member of Helen First Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, William J. McLendon, Cleveland: daughter, Helen McLendon Winkler: sons and daughters in law, Billy and Freida McLendon, Mableton, Jeff and Angie McLendon, Gainesville: brothers, Lanier Chambers, Jere Chambers, both of Cleveland; 4 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday February 24, 2007 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Hutcheson will officiate. Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends 4-7 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
