Verdie Elizabeth Matheson

Barrett Funeral Home of Cleveland announces the death Mrs. Verdie Elizabeth Adams Matheson, age 86 of Cleveland. Mrs. Matheson passed away on Saturday, February 24, 2007 at her residence following an extended illness. Born in Robertstown, Georgia on April 27, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Harvey Adams and Beulah Estell Wilkins Adams. Mrs. Matheson was a homemaker and had lived for the past 42 years in Sautee before moving to her current residence in Cleveland for the past 6 years. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Vernell Matheson. Mrs. Matheson was a member of the Chattahoochee United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, W.V. Matheson, Cleveland; children, Louise and Robert Dorsey, Linda and Donald Loggins, all of Cleveland; Vernon (Spud) and Melba Matheson, Cleveland; Melba and Dennis Dunn, San Diego, CA; Tammy and Mark Southwell, Sautee, GA; sisters, Yvonne Garrett, Cleveland; Eileen York, Helen; grandchildren, Vernon Magness, Cleveland; Angela Caldwell, Cleveland; Regina Pimentel, Las Vegas, NV; Stuart Loggins, Cleveland; Shane Kinsey, Cornelia; Heather Ferguson, Cleveland; Morgan Dunn, San Diego, CA; Eric Dunn, San Diego, CA; Taylor Southwell, Sautee, GA; Shea Southwell, Sautee, GA; great-grandchildren, Shea Magness, Savannah Magness, both of Homer; Chelsea Caldwell, Cleveland; Christopher Pimentel, Austin Pimentel, Katelyn Pimentel, all of Las Vegas, NV; Mason Kinsey, Garrett Kinsey, both of Cornelia; Adeline Reynolds, Faith Ann Ferguson, both of Cleveland; Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 26, 2007 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. David Crowe will officiate. Interment will follow in the Chattahoochee United Methodist Church Cemetery in Helen, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-9 p.m. on Sunday.
