Vernon Dockery

Vernon Dockery, age 83 of Dahlonega, passed away Saturday, July 23, 2022. Mr. Dockery was born October 12, 1938 in Lumpkin County to the late Charles Henry Dockery and Bertha Lee Etris Dockery. Vernon worked for Frito Lay and was a member of Town Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Caris Dockery and sisters, Hazel Pruitt and Margaret Moose. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Terri and Randy Stills, Clemson, SC; Vicki and Joey Hooper, Dahlonega; Tressy and Tony Cantrell, Sautee; Jason and Whitney Dockery, Cleveland; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and special friend, Dinah Cantrell. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, July 25, 2022 at Town Creek Baptist Church. The Rev. Phillip Robinson, Rev. Darin Cain and Rev. Robert Abernathy will officiate. Interment will follow at Town Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends form 4-7 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
