Verona Howard Buchalter

Verona Howard Buchalter, age 88, of Sautee Nacoochee, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. Mrs. Buchalter was born on March 3, 1935, in Cleveland, Georgia, to the late Will and Julia Thomas Stewart. She was a homemaker and a member of Crescent Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Verona was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Howard; daughter, Terry Jo Howard Kelly; sisters, Margie Abstance, Lucille Gerrell, and Kathleen Church; and brother, Bill Stewart, Sr. Survivors include her children, Patricia “Patsy” Howard Wade (Steve), Kenneth Cecil Howard (Sheryl), and Liz Howard Fain (David); 14 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:00 P.M. Saturday, February 17, 2024, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. Officiating will be her grandsons, Rev. Derek Howard and Rev. Joshua Kelly will officiate. Interment will follow in Loudsville Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the funeral service.
