Viola Humphrys

Viola Irvin Humphrys, age 86 of Cleveland, passed away Monday, November 12, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Humphrys was born September 5, 1926 in Lula to the late Walter and Ella Skelton Irvin. She was a member of Skitts Mountain Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her dear departed husband Horace Ray Palmer, sister, Emma Irvin, brothers, Barney Irvin and Eugene Irvin. The family would like to give a very special thanks to caregiver Doris Winkler and the Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Survivors include her husband, Neil Humphrys, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Melodie Palmer, Cleveland; sister, Naomi Kemp, Oakwood; grandchildren, Bryan Ray Palmer, Jeremy Adam Palmer; Stetson Robert Lusk; great grandchildren, Braxten Lee Palmer, Leif Stetson Lusk; step sons, Neil Humphrys III, Morgan Lee Humphrys, Harry Humphrys; step daughters, Cheri Tilson, Genny Humphrys; 8 Step grandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for 3:30 PM Thursday, November 15, 2012 from the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Mike Irvin and the Rev. Paul Flynn will officiate. Interment will follow in Skitts Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Wednesday at the funeral home.
